KATATAGAN Launches Community Innovation Exchange Program

By: John Doe

Quezon City, Philippines — The KATATAGAN Alliance has officially launched the Community Innovation Exchange Program, a nationwide initiative designed to connect People’s Organizations (POs) and grassroots innovators working on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA).

The program aims to provide a platform where communities can share successful local innovations, learn from one another, and explore opportunities for collaboration. Participating organizations will showcase solutions addressing disaster preparedness, emergency response, food security, climate resilience, and community recovery.

According to KATATAGAN leaders, the initiative recognizes that communities themselves are often the source of the most practical and sustainable solutions to local challenges. Through peer learning and knowledge sharing, local innovations can be adapted and replicated in other vulnerable communities across the country.

The Community Innovation Exchange Program will feature quarterly webinars, innovation showcases, mentorship opportunities, and partnerships with local government units, academic institutions, and civil society organizations.

KATATAGAN continues to advocate for community-led approaches that strengthen resilience and empower local stakeholders to become active contributors to disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation efforts.
