KATATAGAN is an alliance of People’s Organizations (POs) across the Philippines that champion and implement community-led Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) innovations. It serves as a collaborative platform where grassroots organizations share knowledge, strengthen capacities, and promote locally developed solutions that enhance community resilience.
Formed through the Pinnovation Academy, KATATAGAN brings together community leaders, women’s groups, farmers, fisherfolk, indigenous peoples, youth, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable sectors to address disaster and climate-related challenges. The alliance supports innovative initiatives that improve preparedness, adaptive capacity, sustainable livelihoods, environmental stewardship, and community well-being.
KATATAGAN recognizes that communities are not merely beneficiaries of development programs—they are innovators and agents of change. By harnessing local knowledge, indigenous practices, and lived experiences, the alliance develops practical and sustainable solutions that respond to the unique needs of each community.
Through collaboration, innovation, and advocacy, KATATAGAN empowers communities to lead resilience-building efforts and contribute to a safer, more adaptive, and more sustainable future for all.
